I am a social worker and graduated from the University of Montana 40 years ago.  Go GRiZ!  I started my career thinking I would work with children so my first place of employment was Butte Head Start after getting out of college.  I seemed to change jobs about every 10 years.  After Head Start, I went to work for the Butte Silver Bow County Council on Aging and that is when my real passion came to fruition, working with senior citizens and adults with disabilities.  In my free time I enjoy going to our cabin and fishing.  One of my most proud accomplishments was starting an Alzheimer’s Care Giver Support group, which started in 1996 before people even understood what Alzheimer was and will continue to support care givers.  The Support group is available to any care giver who is providing for a person with any terminal illness.

Dan currently serves as the Weatherization Director for Action Inc., helping to create energy efficient solutions for low-income families in a six-county area in Southwest Montana. His recent professional past includes dedication to the nonprofit sector in a range of roles including managing a job training program for adults coming out of incarceration, addiction facilities, and general houselessness. Personally, he was smart enough to marry a Butte girl and relocate the family to her wonderful hometown. His most important roles are as husband and father of three amazing kids, spanning 19 to 2 years old. His family sometimes refers to their dog as Dan’s girlfriend. She helps Dan explore the beauty around Butte year-round.
